Senior Devops Engineer

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or related field
2. 5+plus years of cloud experience (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
3. 5+ plus years of experience working with CI tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, CircleCI)
4. 3 plus years of experience with Python, Magento, Ruby, JavaScript/Typescript, go
5. 2 plus years or experience with Container Orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Open Shift, Docker)

Preferred Qualifications:

1. If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
2. Deep knowledge and use of at least one common programming language: e.g., Python, Magento , Ruby, JavaScript/Typescript, go, including toolchains for documentation, testing, and operations / observability
3. Expertise with non-imperative programming paradigm
4. Deep expertise in modern software development tools / ways of working (e.g. git/GitHub, devops tools, metrics / monitoring, …)
5. Cloud experience (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Kubernetes), including infrastructure-as-code
6. Application experience of CI/CD implementations using git and a common CI/CD stack (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, CircleCI, GitLab)
7. Solid understanding of and experience with networking, virtualization, storage, containers, and server-less

1. Automate deployment, monitoring, and incident response processes using GCP-native tools and technologies.
2. Develop capabilities which allow Platform Engineering teams in Onyx to operate with a DevOps ethos.
3. Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, reliability, and observability on GCP.
4. Implement and enforce Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets to ensure a balance between reliability and feature development.
5. Develop and maintain a comprehensive monitoring and alerting platform to detect and resolve issues proactively.
6. Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with security policies and implement necessary controls.
7. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in SRE, GCP, and cloud technologies, and contribute to process and infrastructure enhancements.
8. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture within the organization.
9. Provides input into the roadmaps of teams representing upstream dependencies to help improve the overall program of work.
